Fall/Winter Travel

We were in Paris In October when the temperatures dipped into the mid 50s and upper 40s (Fahrenheit) and light rain misted the city each evening.  We walked for miles each day and I’m happy to say, that finally, I’ve hit on the right shoe options.  All the shoes I brought along were comfortable and waterproof! And they all worked with the Madewell Monsieur overcoat.  Add a scarf, and I was good for the day.

I traveled carry-on, so I wore the La Canadienne boots on the plane.  I know, I’m that rare exception who is comfortable in boots, and I don’t feel the need to take them off on the flight.  The back zipper is easily worked, so getting them off and on again at security was no problem.  The Cole Haan suede Oxfords feel like sneakers, but amazingly offer waterproof protection.  And the Aquatalia ankle boots also stood up to the challenge of walking along the Seine to the Musee d’Orsay and several days of meandering through the neighborhoods of Paris. Oo, la-la!
