Changing Up a Look From the Bottom Up.

There are some years when it feels that major shifts in fashion keep coming at us fast and furiously, and then we have the lull periods.  Periods when, with each seasonal change, the basic silhouettes remain fairly constant.  The boyfriend blazer remains one of these items, happily.  As has the pencil skirt.  But we are also in a time when, basically, anything goes.  Much of style today is more of a personal expression rather than wearing a complete outfit as styled by the designer.  Street looks have been suctioned upward: look at the high end sneakers and strategically ripped jeans.  While these have been around for several seasons now, the look is changed by how the individual styles these items.  So, if your closet is already full of the looks that are coming into the stores now, this can be a great time to break out of your routines and change thing up.

One of the easiest ways to up your game is with shoes.  One new pair can can refresh your look without having to re-do your wardrobe. So if you are well covered with booties, shoe-ties, boots and sneaks and workday pumps, why not break out and shake up your look with some crazy, fun new kicks?

Jeffrey Campbell has both a knee high and short boot adorned with floral embroidery.

Both of these are visually striking yet would be easy to pair with simple pencil skirt and an over-sized sweater.  With low heels, either of these could get you through your whole day in comfort and style.

These metallic toned toned oxfords maintain a classic look with a current pop. The gold are from Ted Baker and the silver from Vince Camuto. Metallics can work with most color schemes and will wake up your ankle bearing jeans!

And for those of us living in warmer climates with more warm days ahead, sandals maintain their place in our closets.JC Andrea Sandal

These platform sandals, also from Jeffrey Campbell,  provide a bit of classic Hollywood glamour to any outfit.

All of these selections are priced at $150 or less, so this could be a fun, easy way to change things up!
